World Wellness Weekend 2021 is celebrated on September 18 & 19 and is a global event dedicated to inspiring and empowering healthy lifestyles. For over 160 years, Glen Ivy Hot Springs has shared the same philosophies and will continue to celebrate World Wellness Weekend by encouraging everyone to pursue and experience wellness.
The word wellness may be a modern term, but it has had various interpretations globally over time. Wellness is rooted in ancient Eastern and Western Civilizations such as India, China, Greece and Rome. Today wellness has been transformative for natural, holistic and preventative approaches to self-care.
Glen Ivy aims to introduce visitors to global wellness concepts by providing treatments and products from across the world. For example, Shirodhara, an Ayurvedic body treatment, channels the five elements of the body to create balance and harmonization mentally and physically. Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest holistic sciences that is still practiced today. One of Glen Ivy’s newest services, the Aromasoul Massage with Himalayan Salt Stones, incorporates global influences to create a holistic wellness experience for the mind and body. Swedish-style massage is enhanced with pink Himalayan Salt Stones in this service that restores balance to the skin and stressed muscles while encouraging equilibrium through an intense regenerating effect. Global wellness techniques are also found in the Marine Mud Massage, which uses innovative mud from Tuscany’s Bagni Di Pisa to offer recovery from stress and tension.
While every day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs is a wellness escape, the spa is thrilled to join the global community celebrating World Wellness Weekend on September 18 & 19. Spa guests visiting during the holiday are invited to participate in curated wellness activities, including Face Yoga with special guest Ginger Marie Corwan, and Sound Bath Meditation with friends of Glen Ivy Hot Springs, Marsha Pacificar and Anthony Espanet.
